does not count  Oct 30, 2008 I’m new to drinking beer, and working on improving my palate, but I found this beer very bitter and lacking in chocolate taste. I’ve tried it twice and still don’t like it very much. I probably don’t like my beer or ale that bitter, and was expecting more of a chocolate taste, but I couldn’t taste any chocolate. I’ll keep trying, but I don’t think this beer will be a favorite. It’s very dense, almost pure black in appearance, not much head, but it is very light brown.

Oct 29, 2008 Pours jet black, opaque even up to a light source. Has a smaller tan coloured head. Aroma is of chocolate a touch of coffee and nuts. Flavor is of every kind and variation of chocolate there is. Brownies, truffles, semi-sweet, bitter-sweet, milk, tonnes of chocolate. Finnishes with a nice bitter chocolate flavor that hangs around pleasantly. This beer is a vortex of flavor.

The aroma is all chocolate pretty nice
pours a very dark chocolaty brown with a good sized tan head nice lacing
The taste is slightly sweet chocolate and malts it is a lot thinner than i was expecting

Oct 27, 2008 a wonderful beer. Aroma of nuts, malts, dark chocalate. Overall, a very appetising taste but not much chocolateness. Mostly the bitter nuts flavour usually found in stouts it the most prominent flavour. The most interesting part of the beer is teh mouthfeel. It is a fairly light bodied beer with a complex feel. THis is an outstanding beer with nuances that are just right in the unusual type of way.

Oct 25, 2008 12 oz can pour. Great dark brown color, beautiful beige head. Aroma of roasted nuts, malts, and semi-sweet chocolate. Very thin mouthfeel, with a watered-down feel and taste. Somewhat disappointing after such a great apperance and aroma.

Oct 25, 2008 bottle 500ml. pours a dark brown almost black beer, with a biege head. aroma: nuts, caramel, chocolat, vanilla. taste: malt, coffee, toffee,licorice, bit chocolat, bit bitter, sweet. finish is strange: thin but with a long taste in the mouth, bitter, chocolat, licorice, celery?, sweet, bitter. my wife is not much of a beer fan but this one tops her list of a favorite of hers and mine too.

Oct 23, 2008 This beer is one of my personal favorites. Great taste, easy to drink, nice thick palette and flavorful aroma. An incredible overall beer.
