kpresley77 (133), Jackson, Georgia, USA Oct 9, 2008 Can pours opaque black with thick tan head and very nice lacing. Aroma is bittersweet chocolate. First taste is sweet with slight chocolate bitterness. Pretty well balanced with no taste linger. I dont know if it was just the can but it seemed to be a little watery. Good stout otherwise. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 6, 2008 Pretty pitch black pour with a thick two finger milk chocolate head almost like a nitro. Mostly roasted coffee aromas, Taste is cold cocoa mixes, sweet chocolate, slightly burnt and roasty malt bitterness. Smooth drinker. Wombler (27), , Greater London, England Oct 4, 2008 Very dark with a lovely thick head. Chocolate attacks the nose a bit along with some coffee. Not sickly at all and a pleasant long finish. I’ve had this on tap at the old brewery and many a bottle but I have noticed a recent drop in the consistency of bottles. fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours dark ebony with a thick cardboard colored head that lasts a long time and leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma is roast malts, english hops, chocolate, and walnuts. Flavor is sweet and smooth, rich chocolate and roast malts, bitter hops to start. Finishes off a little drier with a nice slightly bitter hop tingle and some of the lingering roast and chocolate to back it up. Mouthfeel is thick but not overly sticky feels alot drier than it tastes, carbonation is at an almost perfect level. Overall a great chocolate stout, one of my favorites lumpsowers (235), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 29, 2008 Dark brown, almost black pour, thick foamy head and serious lacing. Thick mouthfeel, malty and sweet, chocolate with low burnt undertones. Solid, I loved it. stobbe74 (655), Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Can, 50cl. Nitrocarbonated. Pours a pitch black beer with a very dense lightbrown head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is rounded and has roasted malt and chocolate. The mouthfeel is gentle because of the nitrocarbonation and the fine bubbles. Leaves a good chocolate taste. Overall a good chocolatestout. donfardz64 (406), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 28, 2008 Pours pitch black, with a tan/brown head. Strong milk chocolate aromas, overwhelmingly so, perhaps some spice under all that chocolate. Very smooth in texture, strong chocolaty notes dominate the flavour, not too sweet as it is balanced by some roasted malt bitterness immediately after. Lingering flavours of cocoa hang around for quite some time, tastes like I just had 70% cocoa Whittakers chocolate. This is the reason why I drink beer, such flavours you would never expect! jeff789 (359), Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2008 This might be one the most full bodied stout whose alcohol content is not remotely high... This is a wonderful beer... Great chocolate flavor throughout, roasty malt... Ridiculously smooth...
