This is quite the classic. It has a fantastic chocolate aroma, full of cocoa too. The flavours however do not live up to the inital sugar rush in the nose, being more roasted than sweet.

I tried this beer on June 28, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a very dark brown with a generous light brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, and chocolate. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, slightly creamy, and medium carbonated. The flavour roasted malt, chocolate, and cocoa to give it a ’dry’ feel.

Great stout. Lots of different but distint flavors. Probably not the best beer to drink in large quantities. Overall a great beer

Pours a heavy black with a healthy, frothy carmel head that is lasting. Aroma consists of chocolate and hints of coffee with irish cream. Flavor is much like the smell with a dry touch. Did not live up to my expectations but none the less is a quality beer. Very good desert beer. Have another? Sure.

Nitro can: Aroma of light sweetened chocolate and mild hops. Appearance is black with a nice 2 finger chocolate head that leaves lacing down the glass. Flavor is like the smell creamy chocolate with a dry slightly, bitter finish. Palate is creamy and coats the mouth with lucsiousness.

Awesome, frothy, creamy, foamy brown, root beer float-like head, and a pitch black, oily, viscous body. Vanilla, Irish creme, and a luxurious double chocolate cookie note grace the aroma, making for a luscious, inviting, invigorating feel. At first sip, the palate is filled with a luscious, creamy fresh mouthfeel, and a bittersweet, lightly hoppy, gingery, and refreshing taste. This soon sweetens as it glides gently to the back of the tongue, producing the first hints of real, rich, aromatic dark chocolate- exotic and warming. There is a very long finish in which chocolate, caramel, and toffee linger for quite some time. This is a delicious beer- a real dessert in a glass. The body has the consistency of half and half, which makes it soothing as a bedtime nightcap. Also great with other desserts, especially poured over vanilla ice cream.

500ml bottle. Pours a dark chocolate( go figure) brown with a dark foamy head. Receding brown lacing. Nose is powdered chocolate ( Nestle Quick ) drink. Mouthfeel is smooth/creamy with moderate carbonation. Flavor is powdered chocolate again with some vanilla bean. Kind of on the dry side. I’ll have to try the nitro can version sometime.

Guiness like cascading head. Excellent appearance, dark milk chocolate look and feel. You can definatley taste the infused chocolate. If you pick this up in a can (4 pack) its a pretty good bang for your buck. Flat carbonation. Kind of someone mixed some quick into a guiness and then added a half a teaspoon of vanilla for good measure.
