pj1855 (154), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Jul 13, 2008 Updated: Sep 28, 2008Thought I would re rate since my original was from the can and this is from a bottle. Not much has changed in my opinion. Maybe I am just not a fan of this style. Pours motor oll black with a light brown head. Soapy Lacing. Aroma of roasted malt. Rather unbalanced palate. Very little flavor in the front with a slight bitter finish of roasted malt in the end. Hardly any carbonaton. I think this beer is overated. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Jul 12, 2008 Love the flavor of vanilla along with the dark chocolate. Very nice aroma. Great looking beer too. sirPino (855), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland Jul 12, 2008 No 252

Bottle brown, 500 ml,13 P
Appearance: Pours dark chockolate, extremely deep in blackness. in fact when I saw this beer I’ve learned that hte body of the blackest beer of Poland - Żywiec Porter was not that black. Head is again with some chockolate influence, beige in colour, cappuccino like, small but thick, frothy and regular in structure decreasing to a cloudy thin surface floating on a pitch black body, very deep reddish black notes, carbonation of body is indistinguishable. Appearance is perfect instead of not big head, but deserves its five. Rather softly carbonated or almost flat, velvet blackness.
Aroma: Very deep, thick chockolate comming out of the glass and stricking your nosetrills, dark chockolate and dark chockolate malts, syrupy, burned sugar, maple syrup, reminding liquor on the of chockolate, coocoo candy, alcohol is well hidden too, melasses, vanilla, very gentle notes of hops, coca leaves, real cacao in powder, esentially chockolate, rather monolitic taste.
Flavour: Very well balanced alternating flavours of dark chockolate, bitter, essential, syrupy, very heavy, full bodied, really heavy beer, high gravity like stale dark bread bites, well roasted grains in the background, velvet, dark desert chockolate, chockolate essence, some hops dingling somewhere over a chockolate and maltyness killed by roastyness, maple syrup’s hints, vanilla, a bit mineral. Not really for plain drinking. Very heavy, stuffy and only chockolate oriented. Great when it comes to chockolate but monotonic and one dimentional. Very well blended and balanced flavours with burned sugar. Finish duration to long.
Palate: Body is full without doubt (even more than full), texture is syrupy, carbonation is soft to flat. Finish feel is chockolate, roastyness, essential.

Smell is malt and a hint of chocolate. Bitter, stout taste, very little chocolate for what I was expecting, almost hidden. Personally I’m not a stout fan, so this didn’t tickle my tastebuds, with or without the chocolate. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pretty black color. Thick head leaves lacing. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Chocolate, but not really dark chocolate, even though the taste is a little bitter. Little sweet as well. Roasted malts predominate. Heavy beer. Should have more chocolate, but I’ll make do. Daithi8640862 (24), Dublin, Ireland Jul 7, 2008 Pours jet black with a thick creamy light tan head. Instant whiff of chocolate on the nose. Light carbonation and chocolate all the way through balancing well with the stout. A bit lighter than I expected Kailunkat (8), Illinois, USA does not count Jul 6, 2008 Dark brown with a off white head with slight lacing. Rich malty smell. Full bodied with chocolate and malt flavors. Creamy and filling. Fantastic on tap - the bottles and cans don’t compare (goes without saying I know). ndfreak77 (76), USA Jul 5, 2008 Nice sweet flavor with a hint of chocolate. Poured dark brown from a bottle
