From the high ratings on this beer, I must have had a bad can, and will have to try this again soon. It poured a dark black opaque colour with a huge tan head. Very sticky lacing that coats and hardens in the inside of the glass. Very chocolatey of course- aroma is slightly nutty- with a taste of milk, chocolate and almonds. As i already mentioned, I didn’t enjoy this. Im usually one for choc stouts- but this lacked a lot of carbonation.

(Bottled) Very dark brown with an off-white foam head. Roasted, slightly hoppy scent. Creamy mouthfeel. Very chocolaty and milky in the mouth. Surprisingly lacking in aftertaste but still rather nice.

This is a comfort beer for me. Very similar to beers I use to brew. I would just say that the flavor is not very complex--pretty much just chocolate. But that can work really well if that’s what you’re looking for.

Tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. I almost didn’t know this was a beer. It tastes more like a Chocolate soda with hardly any carbonation.

A real treat. Pours dark with a great head. A nice chocolate malt smell. A very tasty bitter chocolate flavor.

This one is rich, sweet, and chocolaty. I liked it, but I wouldn’t want one everyday. No bitterness or bite at all.

500ml bottle from the LCBO (the ONE store it’s available at in the WHOLE of Waterloo Region; thanks so much whoever is in charge of beer at most KW locations *rolls eyes*). This beer was really nice. QUITE chocolatey, without being cloyingly sweet. Flavour is huge on the rich chocolate and roasted malts, as well as hints of oat. Flavour is a delicious blend of numerous malt types, more milk chocolate than dark, and all delivered on a smooth velvety palate (perfectly mild effervesence). What’s great about this stout is the lack of everything that I hate about stouts, meaning, no excessive bitterness, no SOY SAUCE, no excessibve anise. A lot more sweet than bitter, but the bitterness is there, and the sweetness is below the level of making this one defined by it. Really nice beer.

Tap. Very good beer. Poured a deep black with a very thick head. Very sweet and chocolaty, but very easy to drink. By far my favorite beer that I can get around here.
