elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA May 14, 2008 4/17/08 notes: Nitro can. Pours with an interesting creamy appearance: bottom is an attractive dark brown which lightens towards the head into a frothy, active brown cream color. Smooth head does not dissipate. Aroma is of sweet milk chocolate, nougat, cream soda, malts and traces of alcohol. Great flavor: milk chocolate dominates, blended with smores, toasted notes, vanilla coke and oatmeal. Very creamy and delicious. Wished it was even more creamy, but I enjoyed the surprisingly dry finish. Overall, different, and definitely worth another spin. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA May 12, 2008 Young’s Double Chocolate Stout

Overall experience: 18 out of 20. I liked the flavor, appearance, head, color, depth, signature flavors, longevity, alcohol, and packaging. A very nice beer. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA May 11, 2008 As the name implies, this has a very rich aroma and flavor of chocolate and coffee. Not too sweet, no bad aftertaste. I fine beer. No enough umph to enjoy by itself, but perfect with some rich dessert. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway May 11, 2008 Updated: Sep 4, 2008500 ml bottle at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Flavor is the same. A bit thin, imo. Todeon (314), Sweden May 9, 2008 Bottle. Really nice aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is chocolate, coffe and coco and it finishes really smooth. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA May 9, 2008 Pours dark brown opaque with a modest tan head.
Aroma is fruity chocolate.
Tatse is like a good ale with some cocoa powder mixed. It is done well, loke a beer soda. Maybe like an English Ale with a scoop of rich choclate ice cream in it. There are some hops in there just not a major player. A really good beer for those who don’t like the taste of beer. Smooth almost chewy texture. gfolivares (67), McAllen, Texas, USA May 8, 2008 Pours a deep purple black color with a good head. Very aromatic beer with hints of roasting coffee beans, baking chocolate cake, and raisins. Full thick and oily palate with tastes of bitter semi-sweet chocolate, molases, figs, and expresso. Long lingering finish with highlights of strong coffee, burnt sugar, and, of course, more bitter chocolate. The brewery employs a heavy hand of chocolate in this beer, but it is well balanced with the roasted chocolate malts and gives this beer a well rounded satisfying flavor. Try with a rich chocolate desert or bananas foster. Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 wow, aside from southern tier this is probably the beer with the strongest chocolate taste ive ever had. not too much like dark chocolate, but like chocolate milk in the nose and plate.
