Great overall beer with a wonderful aroma and color but VERY hard to drink more than 1. Too thick and sweet for me

Plenty of chocolate depth here. A dark abyss of roast and cocoa flavor. Also excellent blended with Lindemans’ Framboise. Very "wet feeling" beer. I know that sounds odd, but many beers including stouts have such a drying quality from hops, excess sugars and finish. This has the opposite effect to my palate. And even though it’s a chocolate drink that implies fun, it doesn’t have a happy tone to it or a festive atmosphere quality; in fact, more of a rolling lugubrious drink for a dreary foggy day. Can’t say I’d have this by itself often, but for a interesting diversion this one hits the mark.

DELICIOUS! What a great beer. Chocolate color, chocolate nose and chocolate flavor abounds. Well done indeed! One of my favorite "macro" beers.

Outstanding chocolate flavor and aroma. Creamy mouthfeel . A fine interpretation of the style.

Pours black with nice foamy head. Chocolate is obviously apparent on the nose, but there are also some caramel , coffee and light hoppy/grassy notes as well hmmm...Dry smokey chocolate flavors wash over the tounge, this beer has great mouthfeel. The milky chocolate sweetness is not overpowering but perfectly balanced by a dry hoppy kick which provides for a really well measured taste. The stout proves to be VERY drinkable and absolutely delicious. Now for dessert, im going to find some vanilla ice cream for a few Double Chocolate Stout floats.....

Yup, tastes like chocolate. Goes down easy, but one-dimensional. Would have liked a heavier mouthfeel. This is great, but I prefer Rogue’s.

I had high expectations coming into this one because of how much I loved the Chocolate Indulgence from Ommegang. I was disappointed by this one because of my past experience with the Ommegang. Young’;s pours a dark brown with a small brown head. The flavor is of a faint bland chocolate with a hint of fruitiness. Given the choice I would pick the Ommegang brew over this one anytime.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a diminishing light brown head. Solid chocolate aroma, somewhat like choco powder though. Flavour is medium sweet followed by a slight acidic/roasted chocolate dense note. Light acidic to bitterness in the finish, still swept in chocolate flavours. Nice chocolate brew, although I’ve had better ones before.
