A stout with a difference. A nice ale base, flavoured with chocolate. Not too sweet, but the aftertaste is like after a mug of cocoa! Not for drinking large quantities, one bottle is enough at one session. Update: A pity to see this go along with the Young’s range!

A great concept if you really like chocolate. Very smooth and I really love the roasted barley taste. Very unique.

Bottle marked best before end 7/06. Medium sized tan head that mostly diminished, lacked lacing, opaque, no visible carbonation, and a black hue with a tad bit of brown in it. Sweet chocolate malt nose and the flavor was sweet, malty, dark chocolate, some burnt and roasty coffee. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body.

Pours almost black with a very nice tan to brown head. First odor is of course a chocolate aroma surrounded by a slight coffee odor. The first sip is awesome. Sweet but with a slight bitterness to it. Creamy body that finishes dryer than I expected. Seems almost like a Mackeson XXX Stout mixed with a Guinness Extra Stout. Definitely recommended!

A beer as dark as the night. The flavour and scent is clearly chocolate, but the taste is a bit milk shakey.

Aroma - light chocolate - expected something stronger. Appearance - black as night - but head was weak with little lace. Flavor - smooth with subtle chocolate undertones. Great mouthfeel - no chalky aftertaste. Overall a good solid stout.

Bottled(500ml). -Black coloured, huge dark brown head, chocolate nose. Slight roasted malt and milk chocolate aroma with notes of dark chocolate and smoke. Smooth, pleasant chocolate finish and chocolate cake like aftertaste.

Draught at Tyler’s in Durham. Black color with thick off-white nitro head. Enticing chocolatey aroma and flavor with coffee hiding in the backround. Chocolate milkshake comes to mind, but it is only slightly sweet. Very smooth, like most nitrogenated beers. This is a very good stout, especially on tap.
