dark black pour w/ a tall well laced tan fluffy head w/ some nice cascading on the pour. Smells of odd yeast and chocolate, roasted malt, and something else I can’t quite pick out. Palate is light but well coated and nicely creamy. The flavor reminds me of a light chocolate mouse. hints of smoke in the finish as well. Overall pretty good but a bit to much chocolate in my book.

near black with a tan long lasting head. Medium carbonation. Aroma is big of chocolate, coffeee, and roasty malt. Taste is really like a double dose of chocolate, bitter roastiness, slightly thin but bitter body...and finish. overall pretty enjoybable.

ReRate-I just bought a bottle that was expired last month, but decided to give it a shot. I was very impressed to say the least. Pours fairly black with a nice tan head. big chocolate, char, and roast aroma with notes of baking chocolate as well. flavors are really char and chocolate. nice finish! this was just a tad oxidized, but not offensive. I am boosting the ratings on this one for shure!

From the high ratings on this beer, I must have had a bad can, and will have to try this again soon. It poured a dark black opaque colour with a huge tan head. Very sticky lacing that coats and hardens in the inside of the glass. Very chocolatey of course- aroma is slightly nutty- with a taste of milk, chocolate and almonds. As i already mentioned, I didn’t enjoy this. Im usually one for choc stouts- but this lacked a lot of carbonation.

Bottle, at DBF2004 (040515). Dark brown with a large light-brown head. Aroma moderate malty, light hoppy (chocolate of course). Flavor moderate sweet, light bitter. Light to medium body, oily/creamy, flat carbonated.
