Nice dark color in the body, with a light brown cascading effect as it settles. Scent is quite rich. Flavor is incredibly chocolatey, much more reminiscent of a glass of chocolate milk than a stout. There is some roasted malts to offset the chocolate, but mostly it’s very milky in both flavor and texture. It’s not unpleasant, just tastes a bit unbalanced and thin. Looking forward to trying this on tap at some point. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

Initiall taste had a little choclate flavor but not as much as I expected. The body was thin. A good beer but I was expecting more. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2005 Medium to thin viscosity and thankfully mostly opaque and black in appearance. Loose tan sponge-like head stands about an eight of an inch tall. Sweet and roasty aroma is characterized by chocolate milk straight from the cafeteria carton, dark hot chocolate, some sort of nice toasty s’mores generate and a malt combo spawning a discreet bubble gum motif. Campfire smoke flavor gives way to the mildly roasted coffee bittering agents. A decisive syrupy movement marks the otherwise medium-to-light body while carbonation hides the rest. Confectionary bakers chocolate and barely brazed pecans provide additional flavoring, transitioning to cocoa powder and a milk chocolate Easter bunny from the Dollar Store. Sticky, slick assembly, finishing with a bitter resonance and a dried out tongue. Just another sweet stout in my book. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Aroma is dominated by chocolate, lesser notes of caramel, roast and hops. Medium bodied, fairly sweet. Chocolate flavor is at least decent. It’s not Nestle Quik but it’s not Valrhona either. Not too shabby. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 4, 2004 Pitch black apperance with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Flavor is rich chocolate and caramel. Some coffee notes are present in the flavor. Wow! This is one badass stout. This may be better than Sam Smith’s. This is a must try! | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 28, 2003 Bottle. Dark chocolate flavour, melting to milk choc on the finish - like Cadburys coffee creams (in Milk Tray). Some fresh alcohol on the very front of the tongue, with the aroma going up your nose as you take your swig. Very tasty throughout. Big initial head diminishes to thin band of dark beige. Rich, dark colour. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA
