Pours a five finger light brown head that fades quickly to a ring leaving some lace. Totally black color. Light carbonation and medium=heavy bodied. Malty nose. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate, you can taste the "real dark chocolate" the brewer puts in; smooth finish, very drinkable. $4.10 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Bottle. Pours black with a nice brown head. Aroma is mostly dark bittersweet chocolate with a hint of hops and roasted malt. Medium/full body. Very smoky flavor, notes of sweet chocolate, roasted malt and burnt wood. Dry finish. A very good stout.

Tap. Wow, really difficult rating on this one. As a beverage, I really enjoyed this one, but really have never had a beer this sweet and smooth, so hard to rate / compare. Pure black pour, perfect thick tan head. Taste and aroma are sweet, almost all chocolate. I had a 5 oz "sampler" and though I enjoyed it, that was about all I needed.

Bottled version. Dark tan head, clumpy foam, sticky lacing. ChoColot, fruity nose. Black as night. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, lots of chocolatey flavor, probably a bit too much. Has some medicinal, bandaid notes also. Finish is dry, uninteresting.

black body with a creamy root beer like head.aroma gives off a bit of chocolate, then followed by your usual beer "hops & malts". flavor is of the same.chocolate first, then the usual beer flavor after(sort of metalic).not bad but nothing special.

Draft version from Capones - Dark brown color with a persistent creamy head. Aroma is thick and roasty with a nice amount of chocolate and bits of roasted coffee. Flavor is roasty with some light chocolate and roasted coffee. Nice brew, but I have a feeling I will like the non-Nitro version better.

Bottle. Yep, chocolate. Double chocolate. Poured dark brown with big tan head. Despite the chocolate, the hops still are clear and good. Great palate. Good nose. Good all the way around. I have laid in a stock of these now that Young’s is gone. It is going to be hard to drink the last one. Sort of like eating the last Passenger Pigeon.
