Definitely, Young’s knows how to brew an EXCELLENT stout, and the rest of the industry should take notice. While not really a beer to consume food with, it has a time and place all it’s own. The pour is a nice, thick dark color with a thick head where you can immediately smell the chocolate. I actually prefer to drink this one a little bit cooler than room temp, so you can taste all the nuances of the chocolate that permeates this stout. While not as strong as an Imperial Stout, this is a great, great beer. Leave it to the Brits to make a porter like this. A near perfect beer.

Draft version from Capones - Dark brown color with a persistent creamy head. Aroma is thick and roasty with a nice amount of chocolate and bits of roasted coffee. Flavor is roasty with some light chocolate and roasted coffee. Nice brew, but I have a feeling I will like the non-Nitro version better.

Thanks goes out to Mustang3 for hooking this one up! Pours a dark black body, thin beige head topping it. Aromas are sweet coffee, malts, slight chocolate. Earthy as well. Taste is sweet, bitter chocolate, coffee, cocoa. Dry and bitter finish. A nice treat! Thanks Kevin!

(Bottle) Pours dark with brown/red reflexes. Peppery, sweet aroma with a lots of chocolate, milk chocolate to truffles and vanilla, powder sugar and some mint. Sharp carbonation with soft peppery notes. Chocolate flavour with some milky tones and grass. Just a touch of coffee in the aftertaste. Medium body.

Tap: black with tan head that lasts a few minutes. Big chocolate aroma. Could taste a few different kinds of chocolate. Almost no coffee whatsoever. Pretty nice overall.

can. After the pour, it cascades nicely into a rich black body and a light tan head. The aroma is tons of malt, a little sweetness and a touch of roastier notes. It initially seems a tad thin, but that only lasts for about half a second. The sweet chocolate and the rest of the sturdy body comes washing in. It has just the slightest of bitter hops to attempt to counter the sweet chocolate taste. This is a very, very drinkable beer and defintely has some character.

Can. How is this not listed as a sweet stout? Anyway, think chocolate milk. This has overwhelming chocolate flavor, but it’s not heavy or terribly syrupy. The finish brings out some residual dryness one might expect from a more traditional stout, but the chocolate remains the most notable character. This is a great, drinkable beer for the masses, but really is solely about the chocolate.

50cl bottle from Mr. Dunderbaks (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown to black color with a massive two finger tan, creamy head that settles slowly and provides ample lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted and malty with strong notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel and ripe dark fruits and hints of honey, spice, and toasted bread. Flavor is malty and sweet with strong chocolate, caramel, toffee and heavy cream notes with hints of coffee, toffee, and roasted flavors. Generally full body with a pleasing sweet and chocolate finish. Nice stout.

Can. Very nice head with dark/black body. Very big chocolate taste with a not overpowering taste and aroma. Very nice sweet taste that is wel balanced. A stout worthy of drinking again and again.
