Pours dark mahogany with a foamy 2 finger tan head that results in spotty lacing. The nose is roasted malt and dark chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, cocoa and baker’s chocolate with some milk chocolate in the background. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good stout. Not as sweet as I thought it was going to be which is a plus. jerohen (1615), Bussum, Netherlands

Looking into this beer is like looking into space. I love watching the carbonation flow down the side of the glass. Just beautiful. Yellow-tan head abounds that is thick as heavy cream land asts throughout the consumption. Nose is cadbury chocolate, with a bit of heavy cream, and brown sugary malts. Creamy, silky smooth in the mouth with cocoa flavors overshadowing the lightly, but adequately, hopped finish. Overall, a great sweet stout and still one of my favorites. A pity if they stop making this. Doggythedog (1601), Split, Croatia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Bottle purchased at the Beer8 in Genova, shared with heavy Poured a very dark brown body. The aroma was mild, malty and slightly roasty. The chocolate showed in the taste and yeah, it was definitely there, mixed with cappuccino, slightly light. There was some bitterness in there but overall it’s mild, tasty and balanced. A very nice beer. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 21, 2005 Vinous aroma of port and chocolate with notes of raspberry. Rich creamy mouthfeel. No roasted flavors to distract from sweetness, this stout is the real deal. Bittersweet finish, slightly dry. Chocolate beyond belief, no subtle hints. Delicious. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2006 From an distinctive shaped embossed Young’s short narrow neck 500ml. brown bottle with a blurb and notched best before date on the back label, Sept/06.
Made a good appearance, poured a opaque ruby hued black with a foamy, bubbly topped tan head that settled into a thin, minimally sticking, lacing, moderate carbonation.
Had a creamy chocolate and sweet roasted malty nose with a light fruitiness at the edges.
A crisp, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability.
Big burnt chocolate taste, hints of charcoal, a sweet milky chocolate roasted maltiness, a little candied fruitiness and a dry sweet butter creamy chocolate finish with the dry chocolate flavor lingering in the palate.
A damn fine chocolate stout from Young’s, a must try, a great dessert beer.

The wife loves it and it is a very nice beer. Allmost pitchblack, it damps with chocolatearomas, not the roasted, but milkchocolateflavours. No or very little bitternes, does tend to be acidic in the latter fase of a pint. Good for use in cakes, cooking BBC and then some more cakes. Also in øllebrød. legion242 (1587), Richardson, Texas, USA
