Poured very dark brown/black with foamy tan coloured head. Aroma of malt and chocolate. Taste some alcohol, but dominated by chocolate and malts. Creamy on the palate, roasty and smooth,. Quite dry with a slightly bitter finish. Probably the best stout I have ever tasted.

Can with Widget Pours a dark tan with microscopic bubbles that move DOWN the edge of the glass is curvy waves. Cool to watch. I can smell the hints of chocolate already. After a min or two the head has settlked into a nice 1.5cm layer of light tan that is so uniform and dense that I can actually make small peaks in it with my finger. The lacing is doing a good ob of coating most of the glass as it goes down. Classic stout aroma with of course the semi-sweet chocolate as the predominant factor. Taste is as advertised, choc as well asdark coffee are the players here. Bitter after tom\nes typical of a stout. Not as much of a heavy thick feel as some of my favorite porters and more drinkable than the more famous Guiness. The feel is creamy and smooth and goes down easy. Stouts are typically not my favorite but I could get used to this one quite fast. Glass is half gone and the creamy head is still there. Quite good

Golly nitro cans are fun! Pour has this wonderful silky, dense foam head on it that looks so inviting. Body is a deep dark brown that darkens from bottom to top as the bubbles rise. What a life. Aromas, unsurprisingly, are of chocolate, dark malt (almost a coffee scent, but not quite there) and a little creamy sweetness. Chocolate comes through really heavy in the first silky smooth sip.

Deep reddish brown with thick slowly diminishing frothy brown head. Chocolate aroma, almost cocoa like with some roasted malts too boot. Flavor doesn’t translate as well with a lactic quality that is a little bitter. Creamy consistency with a tart chocolate aftertaste. Kind of reminds me of the end of a hot chocolate with a little too much powder in it.

Bouteille de 500 ml. bu au Pub St-Alexandre. Noir typique, peu de collet. Arome de malte de chocolat présant et bien. Goût de malte de cacao pas trop amère.

(Bottled) Black. Quite large tan coloured head. Lots of chocolate and some roastedness in aroma. Full bodied and bit dry palate with medium carbonation. (Dark) Chocolate, ash, bitterness and hint of coffee in taste. Chocolate, ash, bitterness in aftertaste.

(10/24/08) Draught at Blind Tiger in New York. Black-colored with a small creamy stable beige head. Aroma full of chocolate, roasted malt, milk-coffee notes and some nutty hints. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, a bit of dark chocolate but mostly milk chocolate, some sugary hints and a slightly drier finish. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. A nice quaffable Stout.

ReRate; Bottle. Aroma of roasted malt, some mustiness and euro hops. The flavor is much more prominent than the nitro can version. Nice flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and wood. Nice creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. In the can. Pours black with a light brown head. This tastes real good, like chocolate milk with alcohol but didn’t have enough kick for my personal taste. Very little if no carbonation. Perhaps my can was screwed up. Creamy mouthfeel but it seems too weak to me. It was a nice dessert though.
