Color of this yummy chocolate is deep, brown, almost black like a dark chocolate candy. Nice tan head, frothy foam about a finger high, fades a little leaving patchy lace. Smells of very sweet and rich chocolate with a nice creamy lightness, notes of ginger spice and nuts. Taste echoes the smell, its got a good amount of chocolaty flavor thats sweetly bitter but not overbearing. It stays nice and silky smooth the whole way through with a good chocolatey twinge thats quite nice in the finish and feel. Some faint notes of hop presence and ginger and is medium to heavy bodied. This is a great stout for having around Halloween and the winter Holidays when everyone starts eating more sweets, I've always got a few bottles just waiting for me to have as dessert. Super yummy stuff.

Tons of chocolate but not too much sweetness. Could drink this stout all night. My favorite Young’s so far.

16.9 oz bottle. Dark brown with a coating beige head. Smells like a chocolate malted with coffee. Almost medium with a smooth tang. Taste is iced coffee and chocolate egg cream. Dry finish, lightly bitter. Great balance, easy to drink.

[bottle] Opaque black with a thick, lasting, beige cover. Creamy aroma with a little roasted barley--a bit weak. The flavour is smooth and gentle roasted barley complimented nicely with a sweet chocolate that is not too sweet or chocolatey. Very low bitterness and quite a bit of cream. Medium body with moderate carbonation and an almost clean finish.

Can. Pours out black with a thick creamy head. Hershey chocolate aroma. Silky smooth taste that is a bit dry, no overwhelming chococlate taste, just a hint. Finishes clean. Very nice.

Hint of licorice, easy on the chocolate taste. Semi bitter and quite nice. Nicer than their oatmeal stout, more flavor.
