Can. Aroma of sweet chocolate, tootsie roll, bitter chocolate. Flavor weaker with the same notes. Watery palate. Pleasant, but a bit blah with excess water.

I have had this on tap, from the bottle, and from the nitro-can, and I have got to say the the can is my favorite. It’s like drinking chocolate milk but with some alcohol!

[bottle] Opaque black with a thick, lasting, beige cover. Creamy aroma with a little roasted barley--a bit weak. The flavour is smooth and gentle roasted barley complimented nicely with a sweet chocolate that is not too sweet or chocolatey. Very low bitterness and quite a bit of cream. Medium body with moderate carbonation and an almost clean finish.

500 ml bottle (no nitro), best before date July 2003. Very dark brown, almost black. Head is somewhat small and light brown in colour. Distinct dark chocolate and raisiny aroma. Notes of vanilla are quite prominent. Chocolatey flavour with a light bitterness. Low in carbonation. Dry powdery texture and somewhat oily in the finish. Thick mouthfeel without being cloying. Quite different from what I remember when trying it fresh about a years ago. I can’t really find any off-flavours, but there is a slightly dull flavour and a little fusel alcohols to be found in the background.

Bottled 50cl. What a beautiful bottle! It pours a dark brown beer with a beautiful and strongly tanned head. The aroma is of dark chocolate, licorice, wood and coconut. A wonderful smoky nose. Full bodied, smoky and extremely enjoyable. Quite a lot of milky elements in the taste too. Some hints of peat, raisins and figs. The smoky, tar-like elements become more present, just before a finish which is fairly sweet, woody and smoky with hints of dark chocolate. Additional comment: A great beer with a lot of chocolate and fig notes. Deeply pleasant and unique.

Dark black, smooth and creamy. Good malt character, and tons of different chocolate: dark, sweet, bitter -> all mixed to perfection. Great stout.
