very dark in colour, almost black. Aroma is made up by coffee and chocolate. Flavor is like a cup of coffee with cream and chocolate. Palate is smooth and velvet like.

Bottled, Pasteurised. Dark black with ruby hue, tan head. Vinous malty sweetish beer with roasted barley and a chicory note. Bitter throughout but still enjoyable. Good bottled beer.

Bottle: Nearly completely black coloured, thin off-white foamy layer; dark malt, chocolate cake, cinnamon and hops in the nose; sweetish flavour, velvet MF, medium bodied; rich chocolatey finish with a tinge of cacao and cinnamon and stronger hoppy edges. A fine combination of a Stout and real chocolate. Why eat chocolate, when we can drink it ? Worth a try..........

Licorice in the burnt chocolate…Of course, coffee beans as well…The name sounded much more fun…

I’ve never been a fan of Youngs offerings nor have I been a fan of oatmeal stouts. Pours black with a tan head. Smells of nuts, coffee, yogurt, and brown sugar. Taste is very sweet with chololatey elements.

Bottled: This surely is a great and different beer. The dark colour is tempting, and the aroma strengthens this impression. The taste of chocolate is harmonious and well balanced. Truely a great beer, though I agree with Foduck, that its very one-dimensional

Now this is a tasty brew! From a 500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black with nice ruby colouring as well. Pours with a nice lasting off-white head. Aroma is mostly milk chocolate on the front with a hint of root beer herbaceousness underneath that. On tasting, the front is mostly milk chocolate with a roasted barley middle and followed by a dark chocolate bitterness. Nice dry flavour though makes this more refreshing than you might think.
