Bottle. Pours a black colour with a thick tan head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Malty bitter chocolate flavor. Has a sweet aftertaste of chocolate and some bitterness.

Very chocolatey smell with a beautiful black colour. The flavour though is dominated by chocolate, almost to the point of making you forget it is a beer. It is reminiscent of the bottom of a mug of hot chocolate where it hasn’t been stirred properly. Nowhere near stouty enough and not a patch on Brooklyn BC Stout.

Does what it says on the label. This beer has INTENSE chocolate notes. Hell, it is alcoholic milkshake. Its a love it or hate it beer. Personally, I love it. One for non-beer drinkers to enjoy or fans of those damned alcopops. Just try it.

Nitro can: Very dark brown with a creamy tan nitro head. Roasted aroma with chocolate, coffee and a whiff of smoke. Sweet chocolate dominated flavour with notes of cappucino and licorice. Aftertaste of slightly cloying milk chocolate, balanced by coffee.

14.9 ounce widgeted can. Another nicely done N2 widgeted style from Young’s. Pours blacker than the night, with a great, creamy tan head and walls of lace all the way down. Aroma of malt, chocolate, slight licorice. Tastes very matly, chocolatey, with some coffee, licorice, and cognac at the finish. Very creamy, roasty, and smooth finish. Awesome. I can’t wait to try the bottled version.

Deep dark with thick nitro moka head. Fruit covered with chocolate in aroma. Nestle Quick with hops. Roasted notes in finsh with light hops. Agree with Dirkules that it would gain by higher ABV. Light bodied but very appropriate.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (almost opaque). Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, caramel), with a strong note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lighlty acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not the fan I once was...over the years my score has steadily dropped as I’ve had so many far better chocolatey stouts (usually without any chocolate adjunct). Somewhat attractive but very simple aroma of chocolate and vanilla and not much else. Pretty watery and not very exciting in the mouth.

Bottle. Creamy light brown excellent mostly lasting head. Dre-brown colour, very dark. Ligth malty aroma, not that much power.. Moderate bitter flavopr, lts of chocolate. Long finish. Soft carbonated but a bit watery for a stout.
