pub can @ redlight redlight.... Pours black with tan cascading bubbled into a dense tan head. Lactic sugars, hints of milk chocolate with vanilla and slight hints of coffee. Watery chocolate flavor, like Yahoo (i hate Yahoo) creamy roasted malts with some vanilla and slight hints of coffee. Not my favorite chocolate stout.

Aug 28, 2008 this a nice smooth beer, its bitter but not over powering in the taste, its silky and has a touch of orange like quality. great for the winter.

Aug 27, 2008 Black, with somehow a deep purple shine. Dark-greige head, huge but collapsing. Nose gives chocolate, chocolate malt, tobacco, leather, chocolate cake. Taste is essentialy bitter chocolate, roasted malt (which conveys a point of acidity), tobacco of a nicer kind. Unbelievably thin mouthfeel at first, but fills in gradually, as if one would pour cold molten chocolate in water. Long bitter aftertaste, more maltey than chocolatey.

Aug 26, 2008 500mL bottle. Pours deep brown with ruby highlights, capped with a moderate-sized tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, cocoa, and smoke. Flavor of cocoa, chocolate malt, coffee, and nuts. some smoke in the finish. I remember enjoying this when I first started drinking craft beer in 1998; it was good to revisit this one.

does not count  Aug 25, 2008 Very pleasing. first impression is a typical stout but give it a few seconds and a very rich chocolate flavor takes over. very nice dessert drink

Aug 24, 2008 (Bottle). Pronounced chocolate and cafe au lait aroma. Black color with bubbly tan head. Flavor is outrageously rich milk chocolate and mocha. Not overly sweet exactly, but very very rich, overpoweringly so. A dessert unto itself. Yes, it’s delicious, but for me a few sips were enough.
