WOW!!! A very nice departure from more traditional stouts. This one is silky smooth and has an aftertast akin to a big hunk of chocolate fudge. We’ve all had dessert liquers.....well how about a dessert beer? Stuffed after Christmas dinner? No problem. Crack a Young’s Double Chocolate Stout and get nice and tight before the new year with this amazing beer.

This had a nice head on it.color was like chocolate.aroma was of chocolate and stout malty. It tasted like a great equal parts of chocolate and stout malt beer, which it was.I was amazed at how the brewery could make a beer so chocolately, until I read the small print on the bottle!!They added dark chocolate!!It was very nice. This will definatly be in my fridge from time to time, although I still prefer the chocolate by itself!!Thanks Trader Joe’s!!

An excellent stout. Pour is dark dark brown with a thick brown head. Aroma is full of chocolate. Mouthfeel is smooth and flavor is full of chocolate and a nice stouty texture. A very well made brew.

Pours dark opaque brown, but not quite black. Head is thick and rocky and tan, but not brown, lasts a long time and leaves some really nice lacing. Aroma is pretty much pure chocolate, with a hint of bitterness at the end. As it warms up there’s a little more coffee and roastiness, but mostly still chocolate. Flavor is very sweet, hints of nuts and milk chocolate, and the finish is entirely chocolatey bitterness. There’s just a touch of coffee in there towards the finish, as it warms up but not quite at the end. It’s unbelievably creamy and smooth in the mouth with carbonation pretty much spot on. Beautiful beer.

I tried this beer on June 28, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a very dark brown with a generous light brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, and chocolate. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, slightly creamy, and medium carbonated. The flavour roasted malt, chocolate, and cocoa to give it a ’dry’ feel.

I had the bottled variety. A fantastic beer, with some very intriguing flavors. Very smooth with nice chocolate taste. As the bottle says it is (surprizingly) not that sweet.

Black in color. Great aroma... chocolate, cocoa. Awesome flavor of the same. This was great with tiramisu.
