Dark dark dark brown. Just a hint of red shown through when I held the glass up to the sun. Nice tan head...not too big...just right for a stout. The aroma was bitter, roasty, and malty sweet. The flavor was slightly bitter up front, then sweet roasted coffee, and finished with a slight taste of semi-sweet chocolate. Very silky smooth feel...one of the smoothest. Despite being so smooth, the beer keeps a crisp edge to it. Why isn't this beer listed as a sweet stout? Great great great stout...one of the "Big Daddy's!"

Great and unforgettable stout. Complex chocolate flavors with notes of roasted coffee beans, milk and caramel.

Out of the widget can, pours smooth, dark ruby black color, creamy lasting head. Aroma....smells chocolately. Tastes..chocalately malty. Very smooth. A little heavy on the back of the tongue and on the sweet side, but not very complex in taste. Highly reccomended.

Michael Jackson suggests that this can be consumed with chocolate. Yep makes sense to me. This is a fantastic stout with silky softness on the nose and a great warming mouthfeel. The roasted and real chocolate tones are quite evident as is the undertone of noble hop. A delightful beer that I would love to drink more of, unfortunately at $10 a bottle this is only a once in a while treat.

An excellent stout by anyone's standards. Big, malty start to it, with plenty of hops to back it up. This beer is exceptionally smooth, creamy, and easy to drink. It's absolutely delicious.

Bottled poured what appeared to be black (in the low-light pub I was at), with a decent size brown head that lasted quite some time. The lacing however was much less than I expected. The taste was naturally chocolate but, like cAPSLOCK noted, also roasted malt tastes. The finish was more of a bitter, unsweetened chocolate. I could definitely drink more than a couple of these.

Excellent chocolate stout. Pours a very dark brownish black with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is smooth and creamy, chocolatey and some mild fruitiness. Very drinkable.
