Nitro can. So, appearance merits a 5/5, I don't care who you are; completely opaque black with an absolute monster light tan, frothy head. Aroma is like a cup of coffee with chocolate in it. The flavor--wow--is like cocoa-flavored coffee with tons of cream and a whole bunch of sugar; toffee, too. A very, very light touch of bitterness at the end. Feels silky and rich and creamy--ahhh. Overall, this is an absolutely wildly good beer. This is NOT, though, a session beer. I had serious trouble getting through a single can without becoming ill. Overall, you have got to give this a shot. Daredevil (77), Bern, Switzerland

first time I heard about chocolate beer I thought it was a joke ...
first time I tasted this brew I thought it was suprisingly balanced but rather difficult to get accustomed to ...
today I think this is one of the greatest stouts around ....
it is surprisingly dry, the (dark belgian bitter) chocolate appears only in the finish, it is smooth and well balanced ...
the best about this brew however is how it pours: almost crude oil dark with a finesse of liquid gold ... pure simple beauty .... DrunkenLooser (22), Frankfort, Illinois, USA

Really rich. I will usually take my time drinking this one as it is so good. wvernon1981 (21), Springfield, Oregon, USA

Great dark black body, long lasting head, creamy texture and taste, and nice milk chocolate/coffee flavor with a slightly bitter finish. AmazonMatt (285), Panama
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2005 Wow! Pours (from a bottle) dark, black with a tan head that quickly dissipates. Not too much aroma, which I took to mean that it wasn’t heavily hopped. Aromas was of chocolate liquor On first sip --- bam! CHOCOLATE! Tastes include that bitter chocolate that your mom used to cook with and also a chocolate bread. I loved it, but would have to be in the mood to drink it. I bet with nitrokeg it would get a few more points for a silky mouth feel webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 16, 2006 Dark, and definitely chocolatey. Goes down smooth and creamy with a slight bitterness (almost inperceptible). I could find this a great session beer if it was more readily available in the US. This tasting was from the can (I have a bottle in reserve for later). Excellent when served ice cold. Head stays for a while, while contrasting nicely with the pitch black body. slight lacing of the head (but then again I had an old glass), It sits there staring, asking "do you want more?!" Slightly sweet, but not overpowering. Less malt detection than I would have expected in such a dark stout. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA

Not too sweet, just right. Dark chocolate and coffee blended well together. This is one of my favorite sweet stouts and I recommend it.
