| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Bottle. Predictable midnight brown color small brown head that laces nicely, no visible carbonation. Malty oat smell with a slight chocolate aroma and butter - its mostly oatmeal though. Sweet malt and barley flavor with a fair amount of hops to dry it out. It doesn’t display any chocolate or coffee flavor which is perfectly fine because the label says "oatmeal" which is true. An even palate lighter than most stouts (except Guiness). A good stout but not outstanding, I prefer their chocolate stout over this one. HughConway (367), Washington, USA

Cant believe I have never rated this one before.
Almost deep black in appearance but at closer glance this has garnet accents, nice looking tan head.
Nice toasty, roasty malt aromas with a good deal of cereal in the back
Again toasty malt dominated flavours, with a tinge of bittersweet chocolate, black coffee and again the cereal.
Well carbonated for a stout but still nice on the palate.
A nice drinkable stout. afireinside96 (837), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2008 bottle. pours a very dark brown with tan head. smells of espresso and oats. tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, and a little bit of oatmeal. has a nice full effervescent feel in the mouth. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Black with a thick tan head. Aroma is slightly weak but smells faintly of oats and malt. Aroma does not do the beer justice. The flavor is rich and malty with a beautiful balance of oatmael like flavor. Goes down so smooth. This stout is even better when you try it on tap.
