A beautifully hand crafted beer with an exceptionally smooth palette and a fruity aroma. A dark, ruby-coloured stout, almost black from a distance, with a beautiful creamy head. Fuggles and Goldings hops. 20% Slovenian Goldings added 10 minutes befofe end of boil.

Bottle. Dark black pour with big head. Thick roasted aroma, maybe some nuts. Roasted flavor, not much oatmeal, I really expected oatmeal flavor. Very smooth, just like Young’s Double Chocolate. Not really impressive, but still good.

A dark dark brown pour with an agressive tan head that fades quickly into a nice lace. An aroma of roasted malt and a hint of coffee. A flavor that reminds me of the bitter from coffee and unsweetened chocolate with a tinge of sweetness that makes it very pleasant. A mouthfeel and carbonation that are very pleasant. If this beer was just a little sweeter I would find it excellent. I enjoyed it much.

Pours from the bottle to a dark brown color with medium tan head that lingers through most of the glass and leaves gfood lacing. Aroma is chocolate, nuts and some malt, but fairly faint. Beer is smooth drinking, with a mildly chocolate malty flavor, but agian, fairly faint. Leaves a smooth finish. Not bad, but I’ve definitely had better stouts.

The aroma begins with toasted molasses and black coffee malts with just above an average amount of hops with lingering spruce and herb notes. Hints of brown sugar and cinnamon..head is nothing extraordinary, but definitely frothy and creamy. light brown in color. there is a beautiful lacing effect towards the end of the beer, but unfortunately, the head dies off pretty quick. the pour illuminates the flat, thick, coffee-like colour that gives you a great preview of the comlexity of flavours to come. One of the first things i picked up about this brew was its spicy mellow onset that finishes smooth while the taste lingers on the palate for a few moments. overall, this is a fairly full-bodied stout. initial taste leads me in the direction of a creamy palate, but as the taste lingers, the dryness begins to set in. i pick up a reversed marshmallow-ish feel. instead of dry then creamy and gooey, it is just reversed to the palate. Complex indeed! Two thumbs up. I really enjoy this beer, but i would find it difficult to spend an evening paired with solely this, as it sits a bit too heavy for my likings.

Pint can with nitro widget. Pours opaque blackish brown with a thin but creamy tan head. Light aroma of molasses, chocolate. Light, watery body with no carbonation. What are they doing with the oatmeal? The taste is not at all assertive, but there are some notes of coffee, fruit and toffee. Dry smokey finish. Overall impession: stout-flavored water. Re-rated based on the bottle version. Still not a fabulous beer but better than the nitro version.

Pours a very dark brown color with a medium brown head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate, slight coffee, and oats. Starts off a little sweet with the oats and fruits that give way to the chocolate and roasted malts. A slight bitterness to finish. Overall an ok beer but there are better oatmeal stout’s out there.

Pours black with a creamy brown head. Great retention and lacing. Smooth cinnamon, chocolate and toffee in the aroma. The flavour is also very smooth, but may be slightly weak... flavours of dark fruit bread, chocolate, liquorice and caramel. Earthy hops and some oaty flavours come through the finish
