| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2006 This one pours totaly black. Has a off-white head. The aroma is rather thin and has just a slight nose of roasted malt and coffee. Same goes with the flavor. Rather thin with sweet roasted malt with some coffe and chocolate. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 Quite possibly one of my all time favorite stouts, this one never fails to deliver (even with the clear glass bottle). Jet black in color and a large khaki colored head. The aroma of this beer might be the weakest part because it is a bit weak (comparitively speaking) but there is the coffee and malts in the nose (think a sugary sweet coffee). Flavor profile is pretty much the same with a nice, dark coffee roasted flavor to go with the malty sweetness. The oatmeal gives it a richness that I really enjoy. You can’t go wrong with a Young’s product. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2006 Poured from a bottle into an english pint glass. The head was the color of dark brown sugar (with good retention) and the color of the body was just shy of black. The aroma was mostly pleasant, but I thought a bit odd for a stout. First, my nose detected biscuity malts and then some prominent English hops. After this subsided, though, I found it a bit tin-like. While this tinny aroma pestered me persistantly, I found no trace of it in the actual flavor. I enjoyed the rich, roasty, coffee-like flavor and the smooth finish. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2006 500 ml bottle. Poured dark with crimson outline. Nice head that lasted forever and left really nice tan lacing on the glass. Aromas were some chocolate and more roastiness. A touch of metal though. Flavors were only roasted malts and some bitter on the finish. No chocolate or coffee in the flavor. I still expect these to be sweet and I don’t know why. Still very good.
