A beautifully hand crafted beer with an exceptionally smooth palette and a fruity aroma. A dark, ruby-coloured stout, almost black from a distance, with a beautiful creamy head. Fuggles and Goldings hops. 20% Slovenian Goldings added 10 minutes befofe end of boil.

before I start I must admit.. I’m not a terriblely large stout fan. It’s was a real dark color. The taste was real watery and bland. Real smooth with a slight metallic taste. It has a slight burnt/coffee taste to it also. seemed to be more watery compared to most stouts. It also has a bitter after taste. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t my fav.

bottle.. pours dark ,almost black with a thick beige head and good lacing . not much aroma, little like toast or dark bread .very smooth and creamy with a medium body and mouthfeel. notes of coffee and roasted barley abound . dry finish with a small amount of alcohol detection ... good stuff

Bottled at The Buckingham Arms (St. James’s - London).
Intense black color, much dense and impenetrable one. Dense foam, not much creamy, good adhesion and duration. Light and bitter aroma, notes of coffee, liquorice and bitter cacao. Dry and arid taste, enough solid and rather alcoholic. Smooth end of medium persistence.

A good stout. The aroma was weak but detected a slight scent of dark bread and a toasted hazelnut. The head was fizzy and light brown with virtually no lacing. The body was dark brown almost black. The flavor and finish were a light to moderate sweetness with a light acidic taste. The finish was average. The body was light to medium and the carbonation was lively.

Bottle slightly different than picture. The ABV is 5.2, has the recipe been changed? I taste some coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is black with brownish foam. Light sweetness, medium bitterness, soft carbonation, bitter, and a medium body.

hmmm, bottle. pours black with small to medium tan head. aroma is weak, small amount of roasted malts with some other stale aromas. flavor was kinda dissapointing to. reminds me of a Bass pale ale with a few shots of good stout mixed in. some roasted coffee flavors linger on the palate. gots better as it warms. not horrible but very average, ho-hum. would rather go for their double choco stout.

Bottle at The Morpeth Arms in Pimlico (London), black with a bubbly brown head. A bitter chocolate malt aroma. Good chocolate flavours, though a bit too carbonated. Better than previously tasted on draught.

Very dark, with a dry fruity body and a short finnish. I prefered it to double choc, its got a bit more body.
