Taste is light chocolate malts, a little watery. Overall lacking in flavor and the creaminess of an oatmeal stout. Fruitfly (59), , Pennsylvania, USA

Smoke is the dominant aroma with wood, toffee, and yeast, in second, third, and fourth. These secondary aromas have to be coaxed out from under the light malt. Medium body and even with a very light sweetness. Finish is good and even. An OK stout but not one I’d highly recommend. darn1207 (561), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Nice pour. Very dark brown with a substantial mocha head and nice lacing. This sets up the aroma, which is a decent blend of roasted malt, chocolate and a hint of coffee. The high expectations are dampened by the taste - a muddy mix overtaken by alcohol. Mouthfeel is oily and the finish is brass and more alcohol. A disappointment. KawaBomber (193), New Jersey, USA

Sweet roasted malt aroma, a little light chocolate in there too. Flavor holds some nice roasted malts similar to the aroma. Nice smooth beer, but not great. Eh... ditmier (1076), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Black/brown pour. Flavor is fairly standard for an oatmeal stout, but something is missing. Not quite right in the mouth or finish. OK, I’m guessing the draught is much better, as is the case with their double chocolate stout, which I absolutely love. solifugid (16), New Paltz, New York, USA
