Superior lacing and a wonderful roasted nose. All downhill from there. Watery texture with good flavor, fading to an awful metallic taste. Eeh. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Red tinged blak body without a head, although that might have been the effect of the glass. Berries and a touch of sweetness in the aroma. Tangy taste then a mild bitterness which increases during the flavour profile. Very burnt finish and a bit overly roasted for me to enjoy personally. marcus (1895), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a modest tan head and a chocolate aroma. The flavor is rich with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The hops provide a bittering balance, making this a tasty brew. esjaygee (1578), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2008 This is an exceptional stout. I thought it was just fantastic, and along the same vein as St. Ambroise stout, which is a very good thing. If the mouthfeel on this stout was a nice as that of a 6-7% stout, this one would be worldclass in my opinion. The roastiness is dry, light, and sweet roasty which makes for a great stout. I loved this beer. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA

Tastes of caramel with a slight bitter finish. Light and smooth for a stout. joshiez (48), USA

Really smells like smokey molasses.....very little head on this beer...and sinks right away. When you taste it though....its sweet and not much oatmeal...which is what I wanted...but still...really delicious. I didn’t eat anything while I drank this, and still....I came away with a full stomach sensation. Chocolate drifts came with the second taste....just nice....not great...but really nice.
