Numenor (816), Richmond, Alabama, USA Apr 29, 2008 A good beer with a nice copper body. Some nice malt and barley accents in the aroma. Taste is somewhat malty, some nice hop bitterness comes through though. Ending is minimal, a good session beer.
punainen6 (64), Finland Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. dark amber color with white head.
Flavor has some caramel, fruits and hops.
Sharp taste of pine that im not too fond of.
Finish is nice with some peppers. BeerViking (14), England Aug 15, 2008 500ml bottle-conditioned. Piney and vinous nose with a hint of pepper. Small tight head. Malty and smooth on the tongue wih an alcohol prickle, building quickly to a full-bodied malty and spicey taste. The aftertaste is bitter-sweet with peppery hops.
tlind2 (208), Helsinki, Finland Aug 14, 2008 500 ml bottle. Amber color, white head. Piny hop aroma. Lasting bitterness, full-bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Not half bad. sinkas (174), Perth/Fremantle, Australia Aug 10, 2008 Pours a hazy amber, aroma of muted malts and dusty hops.
palate is spicy hop heavy with a robust malt backbone, bitter and slightly agricultural finish, very pleasant. imawayforapint (11), , Alberta, Canada Aug 9, 2008 Decent special bitter. A little too much residual sweetness for my liking. Not hoppy enough to balance out the sweet edge either. The hop nose was there, but it didn’t carry through to the mouth. An enjoyable pint nontheless, but not, in my opinion in the Fullers ESB class.
