Haslinger (464), Syracuse, New York, USA May 4, 2008 bottle, an easily available beer that is both cheap and good. Almost lagery flavor. Dark but somewhat light. Would buy again
shackinetics (113), Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 Dark Brown/Black pour with thin mocha head. Malty aroma and heavily roasted, almost smoky flavors. Pretty decent mouth feel. Damn fine "happy-medium" beer. TURDFERGUSON (1021), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 10, 2008 Shared with jcb after an awesomely wet ultimate practice. A few sips of this really hit the spot. Slightly nutty and roasty flavor. Pretty good beer--much better than the regular yuengling lager. Thanks Christian! JCB (887), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle shared with Turdferguson after a muddy ultimate game. I reckon it’s a fairly dark pour, though it was consumed in the bottle. Decent malt notes and a slightly vegetal element added to the typical Yuengling flavors. A porter? Eh, not really. But a decent variation on the standard offering. Hinez57 (107), Clinton, Mississippi, USA Jul 7, 2008 Subdued malty nose with hints of spice and earthiness. Small quickly disappearing head, dark amber color. Mild rosted notes balanced by slight hop notes. Caramel and a hint of dark chocolate. Nice lively mouthfeel, slightly overactive for a porter (which is odd to have this classified as a porter) but not too thin. Overall very drinkable, and just intresting enough to be drinkable. A good choice when looking for something that won’t overpower your dinner, but retains some decent bier character. NDbeerdrinker (33), North Carolina, USA Jul 5, 2008 Pours a dark chocolate color with a small caramel colored head. Taste is of chocolate, caramel, and has a hint of smokiness. Alcohol comes through on some sips. Mouthfeel is medium, and overall this is a decent beer, but nothing special.
