| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2009 pours a dark brown, not yet black, slightly transparent. very little head retention, thin head around the edge of the glass. Grainy aroma with a hint of malt, some coffee in the nose. Burnt malt taste, slightly dry and astringent, a hint of sweetness. Roastiness gives it an edge. Thinner palate as if it is watered down. More flavorful than other Yuengling products but still has that adjunct flavor typical of their beers.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Poured from the tap to a dark brown atop the golden lager, with one finger tan head that lingered well and left okay lacing. Aroma was muted, but was mildly malty roasted nuts, toffee and slightly spicy. Mouthfeel slightly tingly and pleasant, and the taste sightly accentuated the flavors of the nose. Finish was fairly long, and decent, not watery like some lower price dark beers tend to be.
Not bad at all, especially given the price. elgiacomo (96), Chickamauga, Georgia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Pours dark amber/brown with one-finger off-white head. Aroma and flavor aren’t terribly impressive...light roasted malts, light coffee & toffee. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated. Not terribly impressed, only saving grace is the price. Used to letting porters warm a bit, but this one is best served cold. Niko100 (151), New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Very dark brown (almost black) color; Medium to heavy creamy body; Aroma of malt & light toffee; Flavor of roasted malt & hops, some caramel with chocolate overtones; No real bitterness on this one; Overall, a very enjoyable & ‘cheap’ brew. djc920 (26), New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2009 Sheer bang for you buck! This is, in my opinion, by far the best beer out there that is still less than $1 per bottle at the grocery store. pours semitranslucent black with a thin tan head and even some small lacing. aroma is a bit acidic but it has nice notes of caramel. Mild, malty nose with a medium but flavorful body that is a bit on the dry side with some caramel and and that signature yuengling flavor. finish is suprisingly long for such an inexpensive beer. Overall very enjoyable and simply cannot be beat for the price!
Will remain a house staple for many years to come. puboflyons (621), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2009 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked 19215312319. It pours a dark brown with ruby hues and a creamy beige head. The aroma tends to highlight the lager more than the Porter with caramel and hops in the mix. The mouthfeel is aboiut medium. The taste is bitter with a slightly hopped background but little in the way of chocolate or cocoa as expected from a Porter. But it is a mild brew overall and easy to drink.
