Nutty, smoked hazelnuts and lots of diacetyl, spices and slightly smoked ham. Smoked flavour, sweet, rather plain butter than diacetyl flavourwise. Very smooth & slick, but palate gives a deeper complexity. Beer to disagree on. Thanks to Lorenzo and the Italian gang! Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2007 Big light brown head covers the opaque medium brown hue. Unfiltered. It comes out of a very thick, opaque black bottle. The off-white head diminishes slowly. Interesting nose: kinda nutty, smoky, woody and berry-like. Unfortunately, vinegar tones chime in on the palate and ruins the deployment. Hazelnut and wine vinegar are here kings, giving some obvious salad dressing leanings to the whole affair. Barely a smoke coat remains. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. The winey notes are just out of place and overwhelm the timid smoke… unless there are fruits in it? fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Delicate smokey aroma. Very similar to their Vienna, the smoked malt gives a very nice delicate touch, also good because of some sweetness. The hop is hidden but quite good. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 24, 2005 Bottled 0,75L. Nice label. Light and much evaenscent foam. Clear brown color, much torbid, nearly dirty. Medium fizz. Light and modest scent; small burnt wood and scorch rumor. Much vanished and bitter taste. Notes of coal and ash. Indeed strange and under the expectations.
