MoritzF (3865), Ruhrpott, Germany Apr 1, 2008 (bottle, vintage 2007, courtesy of Koelschtrinker) Unclear, pale golden colour with loads of floaties and a non-persistent frothy white head. Sweet, pale malty, strawy nose with subtle hints of citrus, herbal hops and light notes of alcohol. Moderately sweet flavour, pale malt character with a balancing hoppy bitterness; quite rounded malty sweet and slightly bitter finish with woody hops. Pleasant (01.04.08). fonefan (4439), Ulfborg, Denmark Mar 7, 2008 Bottle. Clear medium to dark yellow color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (150208) Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 21, 2007 Clear, very light golden coloured. Honeyed and grassy flavour focuses. Certainly lacking a bit of punch in its aroma. Lightly tart in mouth and showing almost nothing but hesitating malts and a dull, sandy bitterness. Not very complex and not very bright in what’s there. harrisoni (5130), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 17, 2007 Bottle at LCRBM3. Gold with thin white head. Strong alcohol aroma, some decent cereal. Really quite drinkable even though some of the others at the meeting clearly didn’t think so. Good mix of syrup and strength.
