One of only a handful of beers I refused to finish. I had medium expectations of this beer because of the porter by its namesake. But do not be falsely led on...this is a cheap adjunct lager. The beer isn’t very good, but this "Beer Thermometer" on the back label is a fricking riot! Now, what we really need in this industry is a "Beer Quality" indicator on back labels, and it only shows the logo if the beer is worth drinking. Undoubtedly, no such logo would ever appear on the label of this pale lager. It’s not even that good compared to some other Eastern European lagers available for purchase in SoCal. This one just tastes like cheap lager, with only a moderate grain/corn flavor and some spicy hops, neither of which have enough presence to help this beer. The nose is somewhat mild, but still smells like a cheap lager. Fairly light in body, but not totally watery like a light beer. Clear in appearance and medium golden in color. Whitish head is average all around, pouring to half an inch in height, settling to a thin rim, and leaving a few patches of lace on the glass. I’m part Polish, and I so really want to like this beer, but I just can’t betray my Polish integrity. This is not a good beer. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Just another lager. Not too bad, not too good. Grainy and a little bitter kickoff. Had it straight from the can and that’s what its supposed to be as a beer I guess. madquacker (723), Canberra ACT, Australia
