Pitch black with large beige head.Sweet aroma of rosted malt and coffee really strong and vinous, feels metallic with flavor of vanilla and has a light bitter finish. Not my type of Porter.

Bottle. Pours near black with a tan head and nice lacing. Sweet fruity aroma with chocolate and vanilla. Full, chewy body. Roasted flavor with coffee, vanilla, and fruit. Nice lasting bitterness.

Complex. A leaden weight of a beer with a striking absence of aroma. The copper, malt, dry milk chocolate and moss flavors combine in such a way as to make me think the resultant twanginess is due to an ingredient of blood. A very unusual beer that I will remember long enough to never need to drink again.

11/08 0.33 l bottle from a gas station near Warszawa. I was so glad to find this one...it is probably the absolute macro king of beers in Poland, just like Tomislav in Croatia and they’re of the same style so let’s see...poured clear dark brown body with medium brownish head. Malty nose, dominated by coffee, some faint caramel and other fruity spices like blueberries. Flavor is also mostly coffeeish, but in very pleasant way, not too complex but nice. Very similar to our Tomislav, its more coffeish variant. Full body, pleasant sweetish finish. Very nice for sure.

Pleasantly surprised to discover that I had never tried this. Very dark brown heading into black, with a slight tan head that fades into a ring, quite clear. Aroma is caramel, slight molasses, faint dark fruit, a touch of treacle, coffee, and maybe a bit of grainy soy, if that makes any sense. The aroma is not intense, but definitely complex. Flavor is surprisingly much more simplistic, with caramel and molasses accented malts dominating, moving into a powdered cocoa finish with some very faint dark fruit and soy notes. Good.

Pours a dark brown color with a small of white head. Nose is malty, vinous, caramel, dark fruits, and touch grassiness. Initial taste of soy sauce, caramel, cocoa and coffee. Mid palate diplays some vinous notes. Finishing slightly grassy with cocoa and malt undertones. Light to medium body. Good head retention. Palate duration is average. Alcohol is well hidden for 9.5%. The porter is lacking flavor qualities and aroma. Overall interesting, but nothing special.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with heavy who brought it from Poland (thanks!)
Aah, finally got to try this little beauty. Poured a dark brown body with a small off white head going tan. Dark malty nose, weak alcohol presence, caramel. Taste starts The taste starts with coffee and soy sauce (actually pleasant here) and a lovely sweet malt presence. Raisins, fine graininess, even some hop, dust. A pleasant, sweet porter. Definitely a great beer and one of the best macro beers in the world. I can actually buy the blurb that they’re using a recipe from 1881!

Sweet strong malt aroma. Dark brown color with a small brown head. Light bitter malt beginning that fades in the finish.
