Flavor is roasted coffee, alcohol, and maple cured bacon. I don’t know where the bacon came from. Maybe it was a bad bottle. Veer (355), Landskrona, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Very dark reddish black beer with a nice aroma of plums, raisins, glue, slightly of cinnamon and grapes.
The flavour is sweet, slightly fresh & sourish. The aftertaste is of cocoa and malty-bitter.
The mouthfeel is nice, softly fluffy. NachlamSie (1641), Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Bottle best before April 14, 2008. Pours a dark red/black with a small, tightly formed head. The aroma is creamy with hints of vanilla wafers, soy sauce, chocolate, and green apples. The palate is nice and smooth. A dense, chewy toffee presence compliments the very light fruit notes. Soy sauce and a slight roast round out things. This is a very drinkable beer. rugbydude05 (298), Kew Gardens, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2008 500 ml bottle purchased at a Polish convenience store in Brooklyn. Pours a dark brown color with light brown head typical of a porter. Aroma was softly sweet with hints of caramel and well hopped. Taste was bittersweet and very strong, but i felt the palate wasnt very smooth and it tasted a little watered down. Good option and more impressive than Okocim. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark black with a pretty dark, creamy tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of chocolate and faint coffee and roast. Flavor strongly of coffee and roast, some chocolate. Rather boozy too, especially as it warmed. Good beer. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2008 From By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a dark black-brown body with some amber tints. Not much head at all and a slick, oily body. Big sweet, robust malts in the nose. Chocolaty, sweet, malty, and all around spectacular beer. Perhaps the best Baltic Porter I’ve ever tasted. fredandboboflo (1418), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Hmm. The high rating on this beer is confusing for me because I got nothing out of it other than an alcoholic mess. I like sweet booziness in a brew, but this one was just loaded with a weird, dry (medicinal?) alcohol flavor that overwhelmed the competing coffee and maybe prune components. Maybe something was off in my psyche or the bottle, but I don’t think either of those is the case. It’s so cheap, I’ll revisit it sometime, but really was very unimpressed. Had some really pretty lacing though. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2008 Tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. A nice surprise with its liquorice, coffee, roasted bread and alcohol hints. And nice color.
