Tastes great, but light. This lightness makes it more drinkable, but it seems lacking in body still. Alcohol is apparent, but doesn’t much add to or detract from the flavor. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 13, 2008 This is a nice, smooth, but very flavourful Polish porter. It is black red with a fairly loarge, very long-lasting light brown head leaving very nice lace. The aroma is chocolatye, coffee, wine, prunes, and brown sugar. The taste is rich, with a lot of strong, complex flavours, but it is very smooth and blends very niely. It has a rich prune-chocolate-wine-burnt sugar character with lements of licorice, black pepper, and coffee. It’s smooth and a little oily but less than one might expect for this richness. It has a warmth to it, but the high alcohol is not notcieable at all except in the silky body and warm sweetness. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 12, 2008 500 ml bottle from BevMo: The darkest of browns with burgandy highlights and a small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and cola. Flavor starts roasty with dark chocolate, black coffee and a touch of licorice. Finish is chocolaty with a medium black coffee bitterness. Medium body is smooth and creamy with moderate carbonation. ATLBeerDog (280), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Dark brown almost pitch black pour from a ½ liter bottle with 1/8 inch tan head. Aroma of rich malts, toffee and bitter hops. Tastes light in flavor for a 9.5%’er - Strong bitter aftertaste. Slightly under carbonated.
As it warms up, more complexity appears. I start to enjoy and appreciate this fine showing from Poland.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2008 bottle. Clear dark brown, nearly black, colour, large and creamy head. Wonderful aroma of roasted malts. Full-bodied, lots of flvaours, including flavours of roasted malt, chocolate, bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, coffee, berries... Wonderfully complex and extremely pleasant porter. AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2008 Very hoppy baltic porter, love the bitterness, but I think a different choice of hop variety could make for more pleasant drinking. evilempire (122), sheffield, South Yorkshire, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Updated: Apr 9, 2008scored draught at 4am at Stalowa Wola station, bottled in Krakow (among others). who’d have thought the brewery responsible for Zywiec Jasne could also come up with this? Like Croatian Tomislav, but more so. Deep ruby, almost black. Delicious fruity, winey flavour, but with some hop. a dark, long lasting head (on draught at least). mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a thin tan head with pour retention and nice lacing. Aroma of fig & alcohol, slightly metallic tinge. Tastes of carob bean, creamy and lightly roasty. Pepper alcohol and light hops in the aftertaste. Very creamy body, good carbonation. Not terribly complex, but very drinkable, and well-crafted.
