Like Croatian Tomislav, but more so. Deep ruby, almost black. Delicious fruity, winey flavour, but with some hop. a dark, long lasting head (on draught at least). mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a thin tan head with pour retention and nice lacing. Aroma of fig & alcohol, slightly metallic tinge. Tastes of carob bean, creamy and lightly roasty. Pepper alcohol and light hops in the aftertaste. Very creamy body, good carbonation. Not terribly complex, but very drinkable, and well-crafted. SuperDave70 (1158), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA

Aroma of rosted nuts and coffee, with some sweet caramel and hops. Big flavor, more roastiness and sweeter than expected. Alcohol is only slightly noticeable. Very drinkable and good! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 15, 2008 Bottle labeled "best by 11-10-2007", consumed 02/15/08. Pours an intensely dark brown. Low carbonation. Tiny head forms and dissipates fast. Aroma is toasted caramel malt and a little dish soap. Mouthfeel is smooth (dare I call it silky?) and a little tingly on the tongue. Flavor is full and rich; a big, toasted, slightly sweet caramel that quickly segues into salty bitterness. Well-hidden alcohol can still be tasted. The tiniest hint of sourness as well, which is not at all a flaw. Very clean finish with only some sweet fruit lingering behind (cherries?). This is a great Baltic porter with the odd aroma and uninspiring appearance the only downsides. Hunsell (400), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Dark reddish brown beer with dense beige head. Nose of some red fruit, dishwater and roasted malts. Slightly sweet taste of some dark fruits, caramel, later the roasted bitterness kicks in. Very low carbonation, soft, oily palate. A bit thin. Alcohol is well hidden. Nice beer, but the strange nose takes away from the experience. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Sept. 2006 - At first pour, there was a horrid metallic aroma and flavor offtaste, but as it warmed, it faded. Go figure. Anyway, dark brown pour, rich sweet fruity flavor with just a touch of roast and coffee (not enough, imo). Creamy mouthfeel. Just a bit overly sweet and not enough "porterish" flavors, but good beer nonetheless. KimJohansen (7143), Copenhagen V, Denmark
