Excellent example of a baltic porter... all the smooth tastes of caramel and toffee, but with a strong hit on the palate. That being said, the hit grades it down a bit. Still, this brew is very good.

Bottle from Poland. Black body. Head is brown. Aroma has a milky, malty dark chocolat tone and some tar. Flavor is smooth and warming. Dark milky malt and a small grassy hopy feeling. Some alcohol notes in the end.

This one is not as sludgy as Sinebrychoff Porter, but still impossibly thick. Strong, strong, strong. The 9.5% pulls more like 11 or 12. This would make a great marinade for steak.

Bottle poors a meduim brown/red head. Releases a hoppy fragrance with a dark burnt bitterness on the palatte. One of the better porters not to mention the alcohol that is included.

Pours dark like a black hole with a thick medium brown head. Smells surprisingly hoppy, also lots of sweet roasty malts, molasses, body is lighter than expected but still substantial. Taste is smooth rich dark malt without burnt bitterness but with significant hop bitterness; both chocolate and caramel, some citrus, quite drinkable with plenty of flavor to carry the alcohol content. Sweet aftertaste is a little much for me, but overall very good.

bottled, Tnx to Jerzy. Incredibly nice thick black-brown color, with superfluous firm brown-beige head. nose has coffee, spirit, malt. Aroma is sweet toufee, chocolate and punch. Later it is followed by roasted malt. Alcohol (9.5%!) is very well hidden.

500 ml botle purchased at Oak Tree. Pours solid black with a large brown head consisting of layers of tight bubbles. Aroma starts off with a lot of sweetness about with notes of spiced rum, coffee and dark fruit. Medium body with only a slight hint of alcohol warming and that only shows itself after the beer really warms up. Flavor has an initial blast of sweetness but then changes over to a ton of roastiness, chocolate ,burnt coffee and cherries. I wasn’t expecting anything but a drainpour and a new country rating but boy was I wrong, kind of like the time I declared Smashmouth the best band of the 90’s.

Pours a deep black with a nice brown head. Aroma has tons of roasted malts and chocolate. Bits of coffee in there. Flavor is just what you want in a porter... malt, chocolate and coffee all combined in a really pleasant way. Great body, too. Perfect for winter with big meals. The price is right, too. I get this every time I eat at Polonia in the East Village and it never fails to impress me.
