| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Pours very deep red--almost black--with a large tan head. Excellent molasses, caramel, and nut aroma, with a touch of herbal hoppiness that blends perfectly. There’s some spice in there, as well; I almost want to say nutmeg. Classic porter flavor--chocolate, caramel, molasses--with a little alcohol bite at the end to remind you that this is Baltic. None of the flavors are overdone, and it’s not overly roasty. Damn fine beer. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
