seems like coke, but definitely better... :-) strong caramel, something fruits. I tested it when a girlfriend of mine gave me a bottle as a gift from Warsaw. The beer was terrific, my polish dziewczynka also...

Pint bottle. Pours a dark brown/light black with an off white head. Subtle aroma of malts and chocolate but not too strong. Taste is sweet, slightly fruity and a bit watery. Good but a bit more bland than what I was expecting.

12 oz bottle. Zywiec is a bench mark example of Baltic/Polish porter, and is without question one of the most impressive examples of this rare beer style on the market today. Pours to a jet black color, with a thick, creamy, tan head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is just packed with aromas, of sweet malt, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, and peppery alcohol. The body is firm on the tongue, with lots of really big flavors of caramel, dark chocolate, and espresso on a round, polished body. This beer finishes with more really big, robust flavors, then ends with some warming, peppery, alcohol that lingers. A world class beer.

I believe this is the best porter I’ve had. Looks awesome coming out of the gate, with a nice creamy head. Aroma had hints of caramel. Taste of sweet roasted malts with caramel. Very drinkeable on a cold winter day. Also a beer that makes you yearn for a small pub atmosphere. Noticeable carbonation.

A very nice porter at a reasonable price. Aroma is very hoppy with a strong burnt odor. Appearance is dark brown with a thick frothy head. Mouthfeel and flavor are very smooth and burnt. Overall an excellent brew

my dad gifted a bottle of this to me a few months ago before i began rating and i wanted to just try it again because i remember it being really exceptional... bottle- pours slick black with a nice tan head leaving behind wonderful lacing... a nutty aroma, some fruits roasted malts, a hint of alcohol, and chocolate. tastes quite good, very rich, chocolate malts, mixed with an oaky wood flavor, and alcohol warming occurs more delayed than usual in the throat. has a salty character to it, and great hop bitterness hint of nuts as well. a classic porter.

Via Chuck. The beer pours to a dark cola body with a tan head. The aroma is prunes and plums with some roasty black malt. The flavor is roasty black malt, interesting dark fruit components. Nice "spicy" palate. Lively carbonation and a body that has a good texture.

Bottle shared by Chuck. Black body under a tan head. Tangy, malty aroma - anise and char over marshmallow fluff sweetness. Great flavor - big thick chocolaty, caramel flavor with bitter hops and roast on top. A great B. Porter that doesn’t seem like they’ve cheaped out on the malts.
July ’08 - had a bottle in Poland and it was mighty tasty, still a high-quality assertive beer.
