Bottled at the Grey Lodge in Philly. Very good beer. Nice sweet caramel taste. Alcohol was hidden rather well.

Bought a bottle in Poland last weekend on the way home. Pours really dark, would with a normal zywiec disappearing head. has a rather pungent roasted aroma with a tangy alcohol bite, almost like an caffe corretto. it’s quite thick with a a very creamy texture, a bit of bitterness at the end. All in all a good beer, especially considering that it clocks in at 9.5%. Just not really my style. 330ml will set you back about 2pln

Not a bad beer, but one I found to be lacking a bit. An aroma of chocolate, malts, roast and a bit of caramel. Mouthfeel was overly cabonated for my liking and it was a tad minerally. Flavors were really toned down. It was a bit oxidized and roasty, but I was wondering where all the flavor went? I do enjoy porters and BP even more but this left me wondering if I got a poorly stored bottle or something.

Pours thick and opaque black producing a dense, tight, long lasting tan head. Luscious aromas of dark chocolate, figs, raisins, molasses, roasted malts, along with some faint espresso coffee beans and smokiness. Mouthfeel is creamy smooth and full yet shows a moderate level of crisp carbonation which allows the flavors to explode on the tongue. Initial flavor leans toward the sweet side showing off notes of dried dark fruits, licorice, molasses, dark rum and burnt caramel. Mid to late palate transcends into a moderate roasted malt/charcoal, dark chocolate, espresso bean bitterness with just the slightest hint of alcohol. It’ll sneak up on you quick since it is well hidden. Probably the best Baltic Porter on the market here in the U.S.

The beer pours very dark - only glimmers of deep red shine through parts of the glass - but brilliant and not cloudy. The head is thick and tan, but short-lived and made up of very fine bubbles. The aroma consists of lots of roasted malt, some dark fruit, and hints of maple and molasses. The flavor starts off bittersweet - caramel and dark Karo syrup poured over over-done toast with chocolate spread and fig preserves. The fruit and roasted/toasted notes grow as the beer warms. The beer finishes sweet but also with plenty of roasted bitterness - reminiscent of cold coffee sweetened with half-and-half and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is creamy and medium in body. Considering the strength of this beer, the alcohol is hidden quite well. Delicious.
