16.9 oz bottle. Best before 10-14-06. Midnight brown with a slow settling rye bread head. Rum raisin, wood and cigar. Creamy bittersweet chocolate, coffee, melon and licorice. Finishes green bananas Foster. Fruity carb perfectly balances the lush medium body. Classic BP!

Oily black with tan head, it has a nice floral aroma that blends perfectly with the sweet malty smell. Taste is roasty pumpernickel, and bitter that finishes with a back-of-throat sting. $2/500ml

500 mL bottle. Pours a black color with dark tan head. Aroma is caramel and roasted malts. Taste is slightly sweet, but dominated by the roastiness which is complimented by a clean lager finish. Mouthfeel is smooth. Very nice.

Bottle, dark with a slight reddish tint and a brown bubbly head. A sweet roasted caramal aroma. Carbonated and bitter mouthfeel with an over-sweet tangy flavour.

Aroma: Woody, roasty, caramel, alcohol and malt Appearance: Opaque black with a tan head. Flavour: Sweet malty and alcoholic with prunes and figs. No hop flavour or bitterness coming through. Very alcoholic, chocolate and dark cacoa as well as raisins. Mouthfeel: Full bodied chewy creamy and sticky Overall: Very sweet and alcoholic. Like a christmas pudding with a prune and fig center. Very big beer finishes very sweet for a 9.5% abv beer. The grain bill must be huge! This beer is definitely the hangover helper.

Bottle at Bachus winiarnia, Szczecin. Almost black with a light brown head that ended up quite big. Good chocolate and roasted coffee aroma with some vanilla. Full chocolate and coffee flavours, rich. Vanilla. Warming alcohol. Well-carbonated. A nice Polish surprise- good to see a proper Baltic porter also on that side of the Baltic Sea.

Bottle. Pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma is sweet and roasty, with dark fruits and malt and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is semi-sweet with dark fruits, coffee, chocolate, hint of vanilla, and roasted malt. The sweet and roasted flavors complement each other excellently, capped by a bitter-chocolate and slightly tart finish. Full body; alcohol not noticeable; smooth mouthfeel. This is an excellent beer, and a bargain at $2/500mL.
