tan head. Nice roasted, smokey chocolate/dark fruity aroma. Roasted sweet malty flavor. Slighty bitter/alcohol aftertaste. Smooth, full-bodied porter. Worth the search and wait for this beer. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

Pours dark brown and mostly opaque with brick orange highlights at the edges and a small creamy beige head. Rich roasty malt aromas along with chocolate, dark fruits and hints of molasses and subtle herbs. Nice roasty malt flavor as well, sweet yet astringent on the tongue, chocolate, prunes and dried figs, with a floral hop and black coffee bitterness along with a mild alcohol burn in the finish. Medium to full body, smooth with gentle carbonation. This is like a dessert in a glass - very tasty. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Bottle: Black coffee, dark brown edges, moderate light brown head, foamy, nice lacing. Heavily roasted malt nose, milk sugar, apple skin, slight fig/date. Rich dark bread flavor, very akin to a doppelbock. Roasted malts dominate the finish, semi-sweet, slight soy. Seems closer to a Doppelbock than a Baltic Porter. Not as much chocolate aspect as other examples, still quite tasty. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Somewhat fizzy on the tongue. Lingering burnt malts and soy. Robust for sure, but reminds me more of a Doppelbock than a Baltic Porter. Warming, with a well hidden 9.5% ABV.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2005 Poured black with a ruby red hue around the edges. Coffee, dark chocolate, and alcohol on the nose. Full and slick mouthfeel. Coffee, hops, dark chocolate, with hints of caramel on the tongue. Nice dry hop finish. This is a great baltic porter; possibly on the best examples of it style. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 8, 2005 This one is all about the malt, with a thick body and powerhouse flavor. I’m sure it’d be great with dessert, but I don’t know if you’ll have any room for food if you’re drinking one of these. And the low price just makes it seem all the sweeter.
