Bottle @ Map room chicago. Pours a great dark color with a creamy head. nose is light chocolate and malty. Tastes like a milkshake. Very creamy and thick. Lots of chocolate and coffee here, some roasty malt is mixed in. Finishes with a slight bitterness in the end.

Bottle bought at Shopper’s Vineyard in Clifton. Pours almost black with a thick beige, foamy head. Malty, hoppy and slightly smokey aroma. Coffee, chocolate and hops taste with a raisiny finish. Pleasant hoppy aftertaste. Creamy mouthfeel. This is best served just a few degrees below room temperature. You’ll even get some banana notes from it this way. Leaves behind a nice lacing.

Bottle. Poured a black color with a moderate light brown head that was lasting. Good roasted coffe and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Well balanced sweet roasted malt flavor with a small alcohol bite at the finish. Very good porter.

Awesome porter, full mouthfeel, not very thick like a Russian.Black, nice head, fresh bottle. Coffee, chocolate, roasted fabulously, cocoa and a tad grainyness. Low in yeast and carbonation. Somewhat bitter towards finish then malty aftertaste. Satisfying by itself, without food.

Small light brown head, retention is good, lacing is light, stringy. Jet black brew. Nose of sweet malts, alcohol, light fruit and vinous notes s well. Body is med/full, lightly coating on the palate. Chocolatey, roasty flavors, a refined earthiness, licorice and some warming alcohol. As it warms dark fruit flavors evolve, raisins and light plummy notes. Finish is mildly sweet and warming. One rockin Baltic!

10.11.05 500ml bottle. Deep dark brown with glowing ruby edges and a small but persistent tan head. Aroma belies a coming sweetness and predicts a smooth roast and some serious caramelized fruits. Soft and round flavors are full and roasty-dry with highlights of anise and tobacco. The body is so smooth, it’s amost a beer custard. Lingering brine reminds of olives; hints of other dried fruits, raisins, cherries, blueberries. Finishes on the sweet side, but this stuff never gets overly sweet as I expected, nor does the alcohol interfere. The malts in this beer are so intense and round. Yes!
