Aroma is rich in chocolate malts and grains with some grapes. The first thing I notice is how hoppy it is. Body is super smooth with a flavor of caramel covered dried fruits. Stick sweet and oily. Theres some smokiness to it as well but the finish is dry. A really good beer and my new favorite from, what country was that again? Oh yeah, Poland. bierkoning (6094), La Tropica, Netherlands

Malty flavor, in fact with loads of roasted malt. Raisin. Coffee bitterness. Warming alcohol that bangs your head after a 15 hours working day. Whoahhh, abundant with flavors. Great beer. My thanks go out to Dortmunderfor this bottle. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA

Prunes and alcohol with a dash of instant coffee and a piece of black licorice. Sweet, tangy, rich, potent. Thick bodied, sticky...some soy sauce and candi sugar. A cold night sipper, like a sifter of Brandy near the fireplace. Quite tasty, thank you Per! joss (3685), Garching b. München, Germany

Very dark chestnut, huge creamy brown-golden head.
Fresh hoppy notes on top of burned caramel, berries and a bit coffee.
Far more burned caramel and coffe than other baltics, sweet fruity note and a light alkohol burn in the flavor as well.
Medium body - feels deceptively light - and is quite easy drinkable.
Good stuff!

Light sweet, medium bitter to bitter in the finish, strong coffee, roasted, blackcurrant, full even dense body. Aggresive but alcohol well hidde, gets better while warming up. Very nice surprise. I wasn’t expecting this from Zywiec. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2005 Poured dark brown with a creamy tan head. Great looking beer. Smell was in your face with caramel, chocolate, soy sauce, coffee and fruits. Taste was too in your face for me. There was a soy sauce taste which perhaps I am misinterpreting for something else. That is what I got though. The mouthfeel was too alcoholic. I like to have toffee and caramel and did not really get that here. The alcohol was too strong. Perhaps it is just too damn hot out. I ramble because I was so looking forward to this and didn’t like it.
