omhper in Montreal #12 (with MartinT,tiggmtl,Rastacouere,DYCSoccer). Bottle. My most-awaited beer of the night! Black cola body, brownish thick small head..big chocolaty, intensely alcoholic, heady nose..bitter, bitter chocolate on the tongue, espresso, vastly roasty but yet quite drinkable, not really harsh in the least...smooth, thick, supple mouthfeel. A delight, perhaps not my favorite but well deserving of its reputation.

Nice light brown head thrones the deep brown hue. Very balanced aroma: delicate coffee and chocolate maltiness complemented by a profound and expressive roastiness. Hints at hay or straw which I love. Light alcohol presence. Very potent maltiness in mouth. Anise suggestions shine in the middle of that choco, coffee and vanilla desert. Slowly establishing roastiness provides a terrific flavor evolution. Very pleasant, very rich. Soft mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Yeah, this is a killer, baltic porter at its peak. Very dopplebock in the aroma. Weak head, but quite dark. Prunes, alcohol, coffee and twang of smoke but not much. Soy sauce in the nose. Light body. Sweet with deep dark molasses. Like a beefed up dopplebock. Rough on the palate.

(Bottled, BBE 01/2008, rated 01/27/2008) Very dark brown with a smallish, tanned, lightly lacy and long-lasting head. Roasted, licoricey-malty and very seaweed-salty aroma. Milky-malty, conservatively roasty flavor with salty licorice, smoky hints, and some syrupy malt sweetness in the finish. Alcohol is completely hidden. Medium to full-bodied, somewhat carbonated, but silky-smooth palate leaves some syrup on the lips. The aroma is not quite as nice as last time, but the flavor still delivers. A delicious, perfectly balanced, complex, and easily drinkable Baltic Porter. A beer as balanced as Fuller’s London Porter - but with almost twice its ABV - deserves some serious recognition! (Bottled, BBE 08/2004, rated 11/14/2004, was 9-5-9-5-18=4.6) Very dark, beautiful deep reddish brown color with a quite tight, beige head. Very roasted-malty aroma with toffee, licorice, some coffee and warm alcohol, seawatery-salty - very pleasant and complex. Extremely roasted-malty, slightly smoked flavor with a licorice/anise feel. Very long, bitter, sticky and salty finish. Alcohol is perfectly hidden, but warming. Quite full-bodied, very smooth and quite thick palate with well-balanced carbonation. It’s hard to imagine a better, more balanced porter than this. Quite a bit sweeter than Sinebrychoff, but it suits the style and ABV perfectly! Big thanks to tbone_ for this beauty!:)

(on bottle)Baltic porter in the making and to me that´´s just alot of roast and smoke and a watery mouthfeel. Small hints of coffee, but not a complated beer and that´s what I want in a porter, thank you, Poland (see, I diden´t forget Poland)

500 ml bottle. Very dark ruby colour, large thick tan head. Malty aroma with smoked notes, elements of espresso coffee, tar and old woodwork. Flavour is initially a tad sweeter than I appreciate, roasted malts with tar, coffee and prunes. A distinct bitterness from the hops and roasted malts takes over, and lasts through the long aftertaste. The high ABV is well hidden. A solid Baltic porter, but not as good as Sinebrychoff.

Dark brown, with cherry tint. A head high, and long lasting. A rich flavour: roasted and sweet. The same with taste - a balance between caramell sweetness and bitterness. A realy good Baltic porter. One of a few survived in Poland. But don’t try the second bottle.

Bottled: This is probably one of the beers I’ve been looking for for the longest time. Burgundy coloured. LIght brown dense and impressing head. Long lasting. Aroma is malty, sweet and very light smoked. I’m not overly impressed by the aroma. Flavour on the other hand is quite impressive. Sweetness, liqourice, coffee and a nice hoppiness laying on a perfect maltbase. The alcahol is very well hidden. If I should critic this beer, I miss a little roastyness in the flaovur, but its still an subtle and complex beer. It all ends up in a remarkable bitterness and a very nice alcaholburnt. LIke others stated. This is a perfect winterbeer.
