| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 26, 2009 Keg (yes keg), 500ml, at U Kakpra, Krakow. Dark brown to black with tan head. Big heavy beer, lots of fruit initially, then into a tarry, alohol, liquorice experience. There is always an underlying sweetness, I suppose this comes with the territory. Quite nasal in the close. Decent beer. mansquito (850), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2009 Pours a thick black color with a nice looking beige/brown head. Heavy chocolate and coffee aroma. I had to drink this beer fast because I was in a hurry, so I didn’t get its full effect, but nevertheless, it was a fine brew. Rather sweet, with a lot of chocolate flavors. Thick and a little syrupy, but still smooth. Lots of roasted malts of course, throughout. tomthompson89 (1494), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours dark, dark brown with healthy two inch tan head that recedes very slowly and leaves lots of lacing on the way down.
The aroma is very sweet for a porter with dark chocolate malts and plenty of sweet yeast aromas as well. There is very little roasted character in the nose until it begins to warm.
The taste is also a bit fruity for the style, with the yeast backbone supporting some lactose and dark chalky malts. The finish is slightly roasty and dry.
The mouthfeel is pretty thick considering the smell and taste. Slick with moderate soft carbonation.
A very good and fairly sweet porter, this is not one of my favorites in the style, but a surprisingly good beer for the price.
