Red Ale - Imperial

The Imperial Red Ale, sometime seen as Imperial Amber Ale, is a amber to coppery-brown colored, hoppy strong ale with a caramel malty flavor with a balance which can vary quite a bit, with some versions being fairly malty and others being aggressively hoppy (typical in American versions). It has more body and higher strength than Amber Ales. It have less bitterness, and hop character than Imperial Red IPAs and generally less strength, malt, and hop character than American Strong Ales.
