Barkley, Don

Current brewmaster at Napa Smith Brewery in Napa, California. Apprentice to Jack McAuliffe at New Albion. Early student of Michael Lewis at the UC Davis Brewing Program. Co-founder and head brewer at Mendocino Brewing Company. Barkley is a craft beer pioneer whose family is deeply involved in Northern California beer. Don’s great-great-grandfather was a pioneer hop farmer in the Napa Valley the mid-1800s. His son, Jeff Barkley, is now brewing at Moonlight Brewing Company in Santa Rosa.
